For more than a decade, CCPA Ontario senior economist Sheila Block, Toronto Metropolitan University professor Grace-Edward Galabuzi, and co-authors have been tracking the employment and wages of racialized Canadians relative to their non-racialized counterparts. Their first report, Canada’ Colour-Coded Labour Market: The gap for racialized workers, is considered a classic and has been cited more than 300 times by academic authors.
By exploring the topic from different angles, the authors paint a rich portrait of Canada’s labour market and the differential outcomes experienced by racialized workers, savers, and retirees.
