Extreme Oil - free public events with Éric Pineault

Extreme Oil: Corporate power, tar sands expansion, and the capitalist pressure to extract

Éric Pineault is a Professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and of Sociology at l'Université du Québec à Montréal. Éric's talk will focus on the proposed Energy East pipeline, which would carry tar sands crude from Alberta to Canada’s east coast. He will discuss the economics and politics of tar sands expansion as he follows the pipeline route from where it runs along the St Lawrence in his home province of Québec, back to its starting point in Alberta.
