March 18, 2019

OTTAWA—The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA), will have the following representatives available for federal budget commentary and analysis:

  • David Macdonald, CCPA Senior Economist

  • Katherine Scott, CCPA Senior Researcher

  • Hadrian Mertins-Kirkwood, CCPA Researcher

  • Alex Hemingway, CCPA-BC Economist and Public Finance Policy Analyst

The CCPA’s 2019 Alternative Federal Budget, released during pre-budget consultations last year, shows how the federal government can afford to lift close to a million people out of poverty, raise revenues by closing unfair and expensive tax loopholes, implement single-payer universal pharmacare, and create 500,000+ jobs through progressive, cost-effective investments.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives is an independent, non-profit research institute that publishes reports, studies, and commentary on a wide range of public policy issues. CCPA has offices in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Regina, and Vancouver.
