New Report by NUPGE on Social Impact Bonds

For more information on Social Impact Bonds (SIBs), here's a new report by NUPGE: "Privatization by Stealth. The Truth about Social Impact Bonds". The report explains how that, similar to P3s, social impact bonds are simply a strategy for decreasing government spending on public services while "adding a new layer of private sector bureauracy and added cost." Furthermore, concerns have been raised as to how we will determine if SIBs are effective. The criteria for measuring success, designed by the private corporation involved in the SIB, have not, to date, been robust.
