UK students resist Canadian-style austerity

As CCPA Senior Economist Armine Yalnizyan writes in today's Globe and Mail, the UK government is trying to cram through the biggest public spending cuts in its history. We’ve seen the movie and it does not end well. That’s what our federal government did in 1995, and the books got balanced all right… by shifting the burden of debt onto others, including the slender shoulders of students.
