We’re delighted to announce that the 2023 CCPA-BC Annual Fundraising Gala will be an in-person event. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, we are reconvening this year to celebrate both our resilient community and our unwavering commitment to progressive policy.
Joining us as our keynote speaker for this year’s gala is Rueben George, Sundance Chief and author of the national bestseller ‘It Stops Here.’
Rueben’s legacy with the Tsleil-Waututh Nation is inspirational. From his time as Director of Community Development to his role as Manager of Sacred Trust, his efforts have been pivotal in safeguarding the Burrard Inlet and the traditional Tsleil-Waututh territory against infrastructural threats like the proposed Trans Mountain pipeline. His global advocacy efforts, rallying Indigenous communities in defence of land, water and human rights, mirror our dedication to socio-economic, racial and environmental justice on a broader scale.
Adding a touch of humour and insight to our evening is our talented MC, Charlie Demers—a renowned author, comedian, political activist and a recurring voice on CBC Radio’s The Debaters.
By attending our gala, you not only support the hard work of the team here at the CCPA-BC office, but you also get to enjoy a delicious dinner with fellow progressive British Columbians.
We look forward to seeing you in person!
Tickets: $150 for an individual ticket. A $100 tax receipt will be issued for each ticket. Get tickets at: ccpabc.ca/gala2023
